Funny and awesome and Arduino. You thought those 3.5" drives and floppies were useless, so you threw them out! This guy makes music with them. This is amazing. The animation is good and entertaining. The message is coming from someone who obviously is knowledgable and scientific. I want to learn everything this way. Video Watch Video “RSA ANIMATE: Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us” Shared with: Public

OpenX opened new data center in <60 days

I got to play a small but fun part in OpenX opening up a new data center in less than 60 days. From not knowing the people to serving production traffic including structured network wiring, cage buildout, rack construction and shipping, and all of the other “little things”. Apparently it takes most people 3 times this long. What are they spending their time doing? :)

So open source world, regarding that $2B value I’ve received, well now I’ve paid back $1. Cool? It is strange and neat to be looking back on this after 14 years, during a year where I have ramped up my rate and quality of contributions to the free software and open source communities. ...

City of Wonder Information Post

Lots of good information in one place. Originally shared by Alan Liddell [CoW Information Post] Things you might not have known about City of Wonder! (Please share this with others, there seems to be many people who do not know this information. This post has been made Public, so shares should work now.) TL;DR Ask for things or send things once a day. Refresh your notifications by muting and refreshing your screen. Ask for goods once a day. Reset timers by not asking for two days. See #1. (UPDATED) We can accept only one building OR one legend, and one workshop good per ally per day. See #1. Mess halls are valuable. Sell them. See #1. Certain bonuses can only be clicked once. Don’t spam embassy bonuses or expedition bonuses. Hate “Too many goods” pop-ups? Put away your workshop! (UPDATE) Gift timers appear to be based on the time the gift is sent, not when it is received! Details NOTIFICATIONS WINDOW: The notifications window is (sort-of) fixed! Before they fixed the problem, you could not go back beyond one page of requests because the “More” button did not show any results. (it still doesn’t! lol) Well, now you can mute any post that you have fulfilled, and once you have muted your entire page, you can refresh your tab and another page of requests pops up! This means that you don’t have to spam notifications or requests, hoping that they stay on the first page long enough to get clicks! You can send out a request once and know that people will be able to get to it! Spamming requests only (a) frustrates you for not getting the things you want, and (b) causes more unnecessary clicking for your allies. ...
