Introduction I really enjoyed reading The evolution of Lua, continued that I learned about thanks to this Hacker News thread. This is a great perspective on the long-term (15 year) evolution of the Lua programming language. While discussing language evolution is not completely unheard of, it is rather atypical of the discussion we usually have around programming languages. Canadian Petition That Games Must Remain Functional At EOL

Commentary on https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7194789351812214784/ by Logan Abbott. This seems very reasonable and I hope this idea catches on in other places. Other options that come to mind would be more onerous and less likely to be adhered to. Additional beneficial side effects of this will be for all network games to be more fault tolerant to network problems and for EOL considerations to get more thought and testing during development.

Board games in Santa Monica

My stay in Santa Monica has been extended for SIX more weeks. I’ll be here until the end of August or so. Let’s do a game afternoon in Santa Monica. The Virtu offices are right next to the pier and there’s plenty of beverages and nearby fabulous restaurants. I have lots of games.
